This page shows how Linear-Gradient is used.

Basically, we're treating this like a web-page.
and our goal is to create a gradual darkening or lightening of the entire page
as it scrolls downward.
As we've already stated; there are several ways of doing this.
and there are several different effects (such as scrolling sideways, and at 90-degree angles.
However, we're looking for a mild effect for print media. Nothing too extreme.
